The company has fully-pledged department that deals with environmental, safety, quality and social issues related to geothermal development. The department comprise of multi- disciplinary team Scientists and Engineers. Members are registered with National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) either as lead or associate EIA/Audit Experts.

KenGen has qualified and experienced staff on Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) studies for geothermal related projects, Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) implementation, ISO quality audits, Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA), and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) implementation and stakeholder and community engagement.
